Hi everyone,

I hope you're all doing well. I thought it would be fun to share some recent books we've read. I've just finished "The Midnight Library" by Matt Haig, and it was a fantastic read. It really made me think about the choices we make and the lives we could have lived. What about you all? Any good reads lately?

Best,
Laura

Hi Laura and everyone,

"The Midnight Library" sounds intriguing. I recently read "Where the Crawdads Sing" by Delia Owens. It’s a beautifully written novel with a mix of mystery and a deep exploration of the human condition. I couldn’t put it down. Has anyone else read it?

Cheers,
James

Hey everyone,

I haven't read "Where the Crawdads Sing" yet, but it's on my list. I just finished "Educated" by Tara Westover. It’s a memoir about growing up in a strict and abusive household in rural Idaho but eventually escaping to learn about the wider world through education. It was very powerful and inspiring.

What other books are on your radar?

Best,
Sophie

Hi all,

I’ve heard a lot about "Educated" and it's definitely on my list. Recently, I read "Project Hail Mary" by Andy Weir. It's a gripping sci-fi novel with a lot of twists and turns. The science is fascinating, and the story kept me hooked till the end. If you enjoyed "The Martian," you'll love this one.

Anyone here into sci-fi?

Take care,
Michael

Hi everyone,

"Project Hail Mary" sounds like something I'd enjoy. I’m a big fan of sci-fi. My latest read was "Dune" by Frank Herbert. It’s such a classic, and I finally got around to reading it before the new movie comes out. The world-building is incredible.

What other genres do you all enjoy?

Regards,
Emily

Thanks for sharing your reads, everyone. It's great to hear about such diverse books. I'm a big fan of historical fiction as well. Recently, I read "The Nightingale" by Kristin Hannah, which is set during World War II. It's a touching story about two sisters and their struggles during the war.

Does anyone have any recommendations in this genre?

Best,
Laura

Laura, "The Nightingale" is on my list too. For historical fiction, I’d recommend "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Doerr. It’s beautifully written and also set during World War II, focusing on the lives of a blind French girl and a German soldier. The way their stories intertwine is masterfully done.

Anyone have any recommendations for non-fiction?

Cheers,
James

James, I loved "All the Light We Cannot See." For non-fiction, I’d suggest "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari. It’s an enlightening read that covers the history of our species in a way that’s both informative and engaging.

What about you, Michael? Any non-fiction favorites?

Best,
Sophie

Sophie, "Sapiens" is a fantastic read. Another one I’d recommend is "The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks" by Rebecca Skloot. It’s a fascinating story about the woman whose cells were taken without her knowledge and became one of the most important tools in medicine.

Thanks for all the great suggestions, everyone. My reading list just got a lot longer.

Take care,
Michael
