Hello everyone,
I hope you're all having a wonderful start to the day. As the season for outdoor cooking arrives, I've been experimenting with different steak types and wanted to share my insights. I've recently mastered the reverse sear method for ribeyes, achieving a perfectly crispy crust with a juicy interior.
I'd love to hear about your go-to steak choices, preferred seasonings, and any tricks you have for perfecting grill marks and desired doneness. Whether you're a grill pro or just starting out, your thoughts would be invaluable!
Looking forward to your tips!
Warm regards,
Mia

Hi Mia and team,
Great to connect! Mia, the reverse sear on ribeye sounds amazing. Personally, I love grilling sirloins. They have a nice mix of tenderness and flavor without too much fat.
For seasoning, I go with a basic mix of salt, pepper, garlic, and a hint of smoked paprika. Allowing the steak to rest at room temperature for about 30 minutes prior to grilling helps with even cooking. For those great grill lines, I start with high heat for about 2-3 minutes on each side, then lower the heat to reach the preferred doneness.
Any suggestions for adding smoke flavor or other taste enhancements would be awesome!
Best,
Jack

Hi everyone,
Your techniques sound fantastic. I prefer filet mignon for grilling because of its superb tenderness. Sometimes, I add a compound butter for extra richness. My seasoning choice includes sea salt, fresh black pepper, and a hint of fresh thyme.
A tip I suggest is letting the steak rest after grilling. I usually cover it with foil for about 5-10 minutes before cutting. This helps the juices distribute, resulting in a moist and flavorful steak.
For a smoky aroma, I use wood chips like cherry or apple soaked in water before placing them on the grill. This provides a smoky scent without overwhelming the meat's natural flavor.
Looking forward to more great ideas!
Regards,
Emily
