Hi everyone,
Looking ahead to next week's lunches. The cafe will be offering a few specials. Monday might be a roasted vegetable and quinoa bowl, with a lemon herb dressing on the side. Tuesday could be a classic tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches, using sourdough bread. Wednesday they're thinking of a build-your-own taco bar, with both chicken and black bean options, plus all the usual toppings like lettuce, pico de gallo, and shredded cheese.
On Thursday, the special might be a hearty lentil stew with crusty bread. For Friday, perhaps a selection of individual pizzas with a couple of different toppings. Let me know if there are any strong preferences or dietary needs I should pass along to the kitchen staff by the end of today.
In other news, the coffee machine in the west wing has been serviced and is working well again. Please remember to fill out the weekly snack preference form if you haven't already. The fruit basket in the main conference room is replenished every Monday and Thursday.
Regarding the upcoming potluck, Sarah mentioned she might bring her famous potato salad. Mark is considering a pasta dish. I was thinking of bringing a simple green salad with a vinaigrette. We still need a few more people to volunteer for desserts. The theme is still "comfort food favorites" so anything along those lines is perfect.
The new batch of office mugs has arrived. They are the navy blue ones with the white logo. You can pick one up from the supply closet. Please just take one per person. The old chipped mugs will be recycled.
The book club is meeting next Tuesday to discuss the final chapters. They usually meet in the small lounge by the windows. I believe they are choosing the next book this month. The list of suggestions is on the bulletin board.
The maintenance team will be polishing the floors on the second floor this weekend, so please clear any items from the floor under your desks by Friday evening. This includes boxes and personal bags. The cleaning will start after 6 PM on Friday.
The draft agenda for the all-hands meeting is now available. The main topics will include the quarterly project updates and a review of the new internal communication guidelines. The presentation should last about an hour, followed by a short question and answer period. We will have the conference line open for remote staff as usual.
The office plants were watered yesterday and seem to be thriving, especially the one in the reception area. The weekend watering schedule is posted on the fridge. Just a reminder to please not overwater the succulents on the south windowsill.
