Walmart Reward Expiry Notice

So I wanted to tell you how the garden project turned out. We decided to build a small raised bed right along the sunny side of the deck. Honestly, it took a whole Saturday just to frame it, but once we got the soil in, things moved fast. We planted tomatoes, basil, and some peppers. The whole family got involved, even my youngest who mostly just wanted to dig holes. I was worried the soil mix we bought wouldn't drain well enough, but after a few heavy rainstorms last week, everything looks great. No pooling water, and the plants are already showing new growth. We added a simple drip irrigation system on a timer, so now we don't have to worry about watering when we are at work. It's been really satisfying to see them grow. I think next spring we will double the size of the bed. The kids are already asking about strawberries. If you have any tips for keeping the soil nutrient rich without using heavy fertilizers, let me know. I read somewhere that coffee grounds and crushed eggshells can help. I have been saving my coffee grounds all week. I am just not sure how much to mix in without changing the ph balance. It has been a fun project and I recommend trying it if you have a sunny spot.

I finally decided to try my hand at watercolor painting and it has been quite the learning curve. I started with a simple landscape scene, just a basic mountain range and a lake. The first attempt was a total mess, everything bled together into a muddy puddle. But I watched a few tutorials online and realized I was using way too much water. For the second try, I focused on layering colors from light to dark and letting each layer dry completely. It took patience, but the result was much better. I could actually see the mountain peaks and the reflection in the water. I am working on a small series of these landscapes now, trying to capture different times of day. The morning light ones are tricky because the colors are so soft. I found that using a limited palette of just three primary colors plus a warm brown helps keep the painting cohesive. It forces me to mix everything myself, which is teaching me a lot about color theory. I have been painting almost every evening after work. It is a nice way to unwind and be creative instead of just scrolling through my phone. I think I will try a portrait next, though that seems even more intimidating. Let me know if you have any good tips for mixing skin tones, I heard you need to avoid using too much white.
