CVS ExtraCare Rewards Expiration

Hey, I finally got around to trying that sourdough starter recipe you sent me a few weeks ago. I have to admit I was pretty intimidated at first because all the feeding schedules and discard ratios seemed really complicated but once I actually started it was way simpler than I expected. The first few days I wasn't sure if anything was happening but by day four there were all these tiny bubbles and it smelled really pleasantly tangy. I baked my first loaf last weekend and it turned out surprisingly well even though I probably overproofed it a little. The crust was super crisp and the inside had that nice open crumb structure you always see in photos. I'm already planning my next bake maybe with some olives or rosemary mixed in. Let me know if you have a favorite add-in combination because I'd love to try something new. Anyway thanks again for nudging me to try this. I think I'm officially hooked on the whole process now.

Hey, I wanted to follow up on that conversation we had about gardening. I ended up picking up a couple of tomato plants from the local nursery over the weekend and got them in the ground on Sunday afternoon. The soil in my backyard isn't great honestly it's pretty clay-heavy so I mixed in some compost and peat moss to lighten it up a bit. I went with two varieties one called Sungold that's supposed to be super sweet and another called Cherokee Purple which is this deep dusky color. I've never grown either before so I'm curious to see how they do. I also built a small trellis out of bamboo stakes and twine because I read that indeterminate varieties need support as they grow. My neighbor who's been gardening for years said I should be careful not to overwater them especially in the first week or so while they're getting established. I'm trying not to check on them every hour but it's hard because I keep wanting to see if they've grown any taller. I'll send you some photos once they start fruiting. Hope your own garden is doing well this season.
