Harbor Freight Offer

Thanks for reaching out about the community garden project. I think the best approach would be to focus on the raised bed layout first since we need to finalize that before ordering soil and seeds. I've been looking at the dimensions we discussed and I think we should go with 4x8 foot beds instead of 3x6 to give more growing space. The tomatoes and peppers will need that extra room. Also, I wanted to mention that the tool shed needs to be organized before we start. I can come by Saturday morning around 9 to help sort things out. Let me know if that works for you. We should also check on the compost bins because I noticed last time that the turnover seems slower than expected. Maybe we need to adjust the moisture levels or add more brown material.

I also checked with the community center about getting some starter plants donated. They said they might have extra seedlings in a few weeks. I'll follow up with them next Tuesday to see what's available. The weather forecast looks good for planting soon so timing should work out well. Let me know your thoughts on the layout change.

I tried that new pasta recipe you sent me and it turned out really well. The key was letting the sauce simmer for at least 45 minutes to develop the flavors. I added a bit more garlic than called for and used fresh basil from the farmers market. Next time I might try it with whole wheat pasta to see how the texture holds up. The recipe was easy to follow and didn't require any special equipment. I served it with a simple side salad and some crusty bread. Everyone at the table enjoyed it and asked for seconds.

I think the secret ingredient was the pinch of red pepper flakes which gave it just enough heat without being overwhelming. Let me know if you have any other recipes to recommend because I'm trying to expand my regular rotation of meals. I also want to try making a homemade marinara from scratch using canned San Marzano tomatoes. A friend said it makes a big difference compared to store-bought sauce.

Let me know if you want to come over and cook together sometime. We could make a batch and freeze some for later.
