Thanks for the note about the community garden watering schedule. I think t=
he best approach is to set up a rotation that covers both morning and eveni=
ng slots. Last year we had a system where each volunteer took one morning a=
nd one evening per week, but we found that having a shared online spreadshe=
et made it much easier to track. If you want, I can share the template we u=
sed. It had columns for each day of the week and rows for the time blocks. =
People could add their names directly. We also had a backup list for when s=
omeone needed to swap. The key was keeping the groups small so that everyon=
e only had two slots per week. That made it manageable. We also assigned ea=
ch person a specific zone of the garden to water so there was no confusion =
about coverage. I think if we start with that same format but adjust the ti=
me blocks to start an hour later this season, it should work even better. T=
he early summer heat really made the evening watering more critical than we=
expected last year. Let me know if you want me to send you the spreadsheet=
.

About the neighborhood potluck sign-up sheet, I think we should keep it sim=
ple this time. Last year we had too many people bringing desserts and not e=
nough mains. If we use a shared document with categories for appetizers, ma=
ins, sides, desserts, and drinks, it helps people see what is still needed.=
I can set up the document this weekend and share the link with everyone. W=
e also need to decide on a start time. I was thinking 5:30 for setup and 6:=
00 for the meal, with cleanup starting around 8:00. We usually have about 3=
0 people attending, so we should plan for enough seating. I have folding ta=
bles and chairs that I can bring. For the drink station, we can have lemona=
de and iced tea as the main options, and people can bring their own if they=
want something else. Let me know if you think we should also assign a few =
people to help with setup and cleanup separately from the dish sign-up. I k=
now some folks prefer just to bring food and not stay for cleanup, and that=
is fine as long as we have a core group for each.
