Hey, I saw your note about the weekend plans and wanted to reply before it =
got too late. I think the idea of getting outside early on Saturday makes a=
lot of sense, especially if the weather holds. I checked a couple of diffe=
rent forecasts and it looks like the humidity should drop by mid-morning, w=
hich would make a long walk way more comfortable than it was last week.

I was going to suggest that we meet near the old oak tree by the community =
garden, but I'm not sure if the path has been cleared since the storm. A fr=
iend mentioned that some branches were blocking the east entrance, so it mi=
ght be worth taking the longer route around the pond instead. It adds maybe=
fifteen minutes but the view is much better and there are fewer people on =
that side this time of day.

For food after, I was thinking we could try that small cafe on the corner w=
here the owner always gives out samples of the soup of the day. I had the l=
entil last time and it was surprisingly good. If they're not open, we can j=
ust grab something light from the market and sit at the picnic tables outsi=
de. Either way works for me. Let me know what time you're thinking.

I was thinking about what you said earlier regarding the new recipe you wan=
ted to try. You mentioned the one with roasted vegetables and that herb sau=
ce, and I realized I might have a similar version written down somewhere fr=
om a cooking class I took last year. It uses a lot of the same ingredients =
but swaps the thyme for fresh rosemary, which changes the flavor just enoug=
h to make it interesting.

If you want, I can take a picture of the handwritten card and send it over =
this evening. The only thing I would change is the amount of lemon zest - t=
he original called for a full teaspoon but that felt a little too sharp for=
me. I ended up using about half and it balanced out nicely. Also, roasting=
the carrots at a slightly lower temperature for a bit longer gave them a b=
etter texture, not too soft and not too crunchy.

On a completely different note, I finally reorganized the bookshelf by the =
front window. It looks so much better now that the oversized art books are =
on the bottom shelf instead of leaning against the wall. I found a few thin=
gs I forgot I had, including a small glass paperweight and a postcard from =
that trip we took a few years ago. We should plan another weekend like that=
 sometime.
