Hey, I was just thinking about that project we discussed last week. The one=
with the garden layout? I finally got around to sketching out a few ideas =
on paper. Honestly I wasn't sure where to start at first, but then I walked=
around the yard and just kind of let the space tell me what it wanted.

There's a corner near the fence that gets morning light and stays cooler in=
the afternoon. I think that would be perfect for the leafy greens we talke=
d about. And the spot by the driveway gets way too much sun for anything de=
licate, so maybe I'll put some tougher plants there instead. I remember you=
mentioned liking lavender, so I looked into that too. It apparently does r=
eally well in dry soil, which might help if we get a hot stretch again.

Anyway, I don't have everything figured out yet, but I wanted to share wher=
e my head is at. Let me know what you think when you have a minute. No rush=
at all. I'll probably spend the next couple of evenings refining the sketc=
hes and measuring out the bed dimensions. It's actually kind of relaxing to=
 think about.

Alright, I'll stop rambling now. Hope your week is off to a decent start an=
d you got some time outside over the weekend. Talk soon.

mption options may vary by location.

I saw your message earlier and wanted to reply before the day got away from=
me. That trail you mentioned near the old orchard - I've actually been the=
re once, probably two springs ago, and you're right about the wildflowers. =
They were everywhere, especially on the east side where the trees thin out.

We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. There's a small=
wooden bench near the second bend where you can sit and just listen to the=
birds for a while. I remember thinking the path felt longer on the way bac=
k, but that might have just been because we were tired. Bring water if you =
go, there's no fountain along the route.

Oh, and if you're into that kind of thing, there's an old stone wall about =
halfway through that would make a great photo. The moss on it was really vi=
vid that day. I didn't bring my camera, which I regretted, but I might go a=
gain once the weather settles.

Anyway, glad you had a good time out there. Let me know if you want company=
on the next one. I could use the fresh air and the change of scenery. Hope=
the rest of your week goes smoothly and you get some downtime this weekend=
.
