Hey Marcy, just getting back to you about the weekend hike. I think we should aim for an earlier start on Saturday, maybe around seven fifteen or so. Last time we left later and the trailhead lot was pretty full by the time we got there. I checked the forecast and it looks like it will be in the mid sixties by mid morning, so layers are probably the safest bet.

I am bringing the usual trail mix and some dried mango if you want to share. Also, do you have an extra water bottle I could borrow? Mine cracked last week and I keep forgetting to pick up a new one.

Parker said he might join us if he finishes his grading before Friday night. He mentioned something about wanting to try that new loop that connects to the old fire road. I have not done that section yet but I heard it adds about a mile and a half and has a nice overlook near the ridge.

Let me know what time works best for you to meet at the ranger station. I can pick up coffee on the way if that helps.

Also, do you want to do brunch afterward at that little diner near the highway? They have good pancakes and the wait is usually not too bad if we get there before noon. No pressure either way, just thought I would throw it out there.

OMAHA STEAKS
Hand-selected cuts, prepared with care

A Gourmet Sampler, At No Charge To You

Omaha Steaks has prepared 500 gourmet boxes, each with a typical value exceeding $600, and they are being provided at no charge to recipients. One sampler is available per household, and this allocation ends Tomorrow.

Every cut in your sampler is hand-selected and flash-frozen to lock in exceptional flavor from the moment it leaves our facility. You will not be billed for the sampler, and no payment is required if selected.

The program allocation is limited to 500 boxes, and quantities are determined by that count. This ensures each recipient receives the full selection outlined below.

Inside Your Box

4 New York Strips

6 Top Sirloins

4 Filet Mignons

4 Ribeyes

Thanks for taking a moment to review this offer. We look forward to sending your sampler.

So I was thinking about the garden layout you asked about and the easiest approach is to start with the raised beds on the south side. The soil there gets the most consistent sun throughout the day, especially now that we trimmed back the maple branches.

For the tomatoes, I would suggest spacing them about eighteen inches apart in the center row and using a simple stake system rather than cages this year. The cages we used last spring ended up warping under the weight by August.

For the herb section, basil and thyme do really well next to each other, but keep the mint in its own container or it will overtake everything by July. I learned that one the hard way.

If you want to try peppers again, maybe wait until the night temperatures stay above fifty degrees for a full week. They stalled out last year when we planted them too early in May.

Also, the compost pile is ready to turn again. I can come by Thursday after work if that helps. Bring a couple of five gallon buckets and we can split the finished batch between your beds and my flower pots.

Let me know if you want help setting up the drip line this weekend. I found some extra emitters in the shed that should work for the new bed.

So I was thinking about the garden layout you asked about and the e=
asiest approach is to start with the raised beds on the south side. The soi=
l there gets the most consistent sun throughout the day, especially now tha=
t we trimmed back the maple branches.

For the tomatoes, I would suggest spacing them about eighteen inche=
s apart in the center row and using a simple stake system rather than cages=
this year. The cages we used last spring ended up warping under the weight=
by August.

For the herb section, basil and thyme do really well next to each o=
ther, but keep the mint in its own container or it will overtake everything=
by July. I learned that one the hard way.

If you want to try peppers again, maybe wait until the night temper=
atures stay above fifty degrees for a full week. They stalled out last year=
when we planted them too early in May.

Also, the compost pile is ready to turn again. I can come by Thursd=
ay after work if that helps. Bring a couple of five gallon buckets and we c=
an split the finished batch between your beds and my flower pots.

Let me know if you want help setting up the drip line this weekend.=
I found some extra emitters in the shed that should work for the new bed.
