Honestly, I think part of the reason I kept putting it off is that the whol=
e thing felt bigger than it actually was once I sat down and just started w=
ith the simplest step. I ended up listing three things I could do in ten mi=
nutes, and that ended up being most of it. The rest just sort of fell into =
place afterwards, which I didn't expect at all.
I would say don't try to solve the whole thing at once, because that's what=
kept me stuck for a while. Just pick one small part and deal with that, th=
en do the same thing the next day. It sounds obvious, but in the moment it =
wasn't obvious to me at all. I kept looking at the entire thing as one prob=
lem instead of a few smaller ones, and that made it harder than it needed t=
o be.
Now I'm kind of glad I didn't wait any longer, because the tiny steps added=
up faster than I thought they would.

Yeah, I finally got around to clearing out that spare room over the weekend=
and it wasn't as bad as I thought. I had been putting it off for weeks, mo=
stly because I assumed I'd need a whole day to do it properly, but I ended =
up breaking it into a few shorter sessions.
What helped most was not trying to organize everything perfectly on the fir=
st pass. I just made four piles: keep, donate, toss, and not sure yet. Any =
time I got stuck on an item, I put it in the not sure pile and kept going. =
By the end, that pile was small enough to deal with in one sitting.
The best part was finding a box of old photos I thought I had lost. I proba=
bly spent an hour just going through those before getting back to the room,=
 but it was worth it.
