Yeah, I got your note about the potluck next weekend. I'm planning to bring=
that roasted beet and goat cheese salad I made for the book club, it went =
over really well. I'll run to the market Thursday morning to pick up the be=
ets, some fresh arugula, and a decent log of goat cheese. I might add some =
candied walnuts if I have time to toast them without burning the batch. Las=
t time I got distracted and they came out a bit darker than I wanted, but n=
obody seemed to mind too much. I can also grab a baguette on the way over i=
f you think we need more bread. Sarah mentioned she might make her lemon ba=
rs again, so I figured a lighter savory dish would balance things out nicel=
y. Let me know if there is anything specific you want me to bring or if you=
want me to arrive a little early to help set up tables and chairs in the b=
ackyard. I can bring a folding table too, just in case the guest list grows=
. Oh, and I still have a stack of the good paper napkins from the winter br=
unch if we need extras.

I was also thinking about trying a new recipe for a spiced pear galette for=
the dessert table, but I don't want to step on Sarah's lemon bar territory=
. Maybe I will save that for the next gathering instead. Let me know what y=
ou think about the table layout. Last time we set up the drink station near=
the fence it worked well, but the sun hits that corner pretty hard in the =
afternoon. We might want to move it under the big maple this time so the ic=
e melts slower. I can bring two coolers and a bunch of ice. Text me when yo=
u get a chance.

Hey, just following up on the meeting notes from Tuesday. I re-read the act=
ion items and I think we need to clarify who is handling the vendor contrac=
ts before the end of the quarter. Sharon thought it was Paul, but Paul said=
he was only responsible for the data migration piece. I can take the lead =
on the contract language review if neither of them has bandwidth. Let me kn=
ow if the draft timeline still works for a Friday deliverable so I can bloc=
k off time to write up the summary and circulate it. I will also need acces=
s to the shared folder where last year's contract templates live, the one w=
ith the tracked changes from legal. If it's easier, I can pull the old redl=
ines from my archived email and start from there. My preference is to keep =
the formatting consistent with the current Q3 documents so nothing looks ou=
t of place. I know the team is trying to keep the review process lean, so I=
will only focus on the key sections that actually changed, not the standar=
d boilerplate pages.

One more thing, can you confirm if we are going with the new numbering syst=
em for exhibits or keeping the old letter-based one? I have notes from the =
call that said we were switching, but the shared drive still shows the old =
naming convention on everything. I don't want to spend time renaming files =
if we're not settled on it. Give me a shout when you have a second.

t in the sampler program.

So I finally tried that ramen place near the library, the one with the smal=
l handwritten menu board outside. I went with the miso broth and added the =
soft egg and extra scallions. It was pretty solid, though I thought the bro=
th could have used a bit more depth. The noodles had a good chew to them, w=
hich I always appreciate. The service was quick for a weeknight, and the pl=
ace wasn't too crowded around seven. I'd go back, but I might try the shoyu=
next time to compare. The pork belly was sliced thin and had a nice char o=
n the edges. I saved half the egg for the last few bites, which is my usual=
move. There's a small park two blocks down, so after eating I walked aroun=
d a bit before heading to the bus stop. The whole outing took about an hour=
and a half, which was about perfect.

Speaking of food, I need to reorganize my spice cabinet this weekend. It's =
getting to the point where I can't find anything without moving five jars a=
round. I have three containers of smoked paprika because I kept forgetting =
I already had some. I think I'll sort everything by frequency of use and la=
bel the lids with a marker. That should save me time during weeknight cooki=
ng. I also want to clean out the freezer and start using up the bags of fro=
zen stock I've been hoarding. Soup season is basically here, so it's a good=
excuse to make a big pot of something.

Did you ever get around to fixing the latch on the side gate? I noticed the=
other day it was sticking again when I came through with the recycling. I =
gave it a little wiggle and it seemed to settle back into place, but it pro=
bably needs a new screw or some lubricant on the hinge. I can bring my dril=
l and some spare hardware over on Sunday if that works for you. I have a fe=
w different sizes of screws in the toolbox, plus a small can of silicone sp=
ray that should quiet it down. The problem might be the metal plate at the =
bottom, the one that catches the post. It looked a bit bent. We could just =
shim it with a thin piece of wood for now and see if that holds. Not a huge=
deal, but it's the kind of thing that gets more annoying as the weather tu=
rns colder. I'd rather sort it out before it's snowing and we're fumbling w=
ith a stuck gate.

While I'm over, I can also take a look at that dripping faucet in the laund=
ry room. I remember you mentioned it started making a sound around three in=
the morning. It's probably the washer inside the handle, which is an easy =
swap. I'll check what size cartridge it takes and grab a replacement from t=
he hardware store on the way. Should be under ten minutes to fix. Remind me=
to bring a bucket and an old towel just in case.
